Normandy is in north west France bordering the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. Normandy is made up of five departments, Manche, Calvados, Orne, Eure and Seine-Maritime. Please click here for an interactive map.
For many reasons Normandy has now become a popular place to live or to own a holiday home. Normandy boasts beautiful countryside, open roads, clean air, a wonderful coastline, and property prices that offer fantastic value for money. The major towns such as Caen, Vire, Rouen, St Lo, Bayeux and Alencon (just to mention a few) offer all the amenities yet still maintain the charm for which Normandy has become known.
There are hundreds of small villages that are seated amongst the vast countryside all within easy reach of the major towns and many offering a peaceful community existence that has sadly disappeared in many other parts of the world.
There are many coastal ports in Normandy that connect with the U.K. and the Channel Islands as well as the Channel Tunnel which can be reached in less then two hours from eastern Normandy. Ferry journeys to Normandy from the U.K. can be as short as 2¼ hours.
